Provision for Our Baby

In 2005, the company I worked for in Virginia outsourced all the positions overseas. After 3 months, my unemployment had run out and we had no income coming in. We needed diapers and a few other things for our 6-month-old son. My wife and I went to Walmart where she went to pick up a few things and I took our son in the cart. I went to the kids clothing department and found two outfits I wanted to get for him. As I walked around the aisles, I was beating myself up that we didn’t have money for them. I took the outfits out of the cart and put them back.

After we got home, I was moping, feeling so down about the financial situation we were in. I went out to the mailbox and found a birthday card from my wife’s cousin and a little padded envelope from my sister. Inside was a $50 Wal Mart gift card from my wife’s cousin, and two baby outfits from my sister.

They didn’t know our need or the moment it was needed most, but God did. And He said, “I got you. I got you covered.”
